Protecting Service Dogs Eye Health with Ocular Screenings

Our veterinary ophthalmologist at Hope Advanced Veterinary Center, Dr. Adkins, takes time out of her busy schedule to examine the eyes of local working dogs in Vienna.

Each May, we observe National Service Dog Eye Examination Month, where we provide complimentary ocular screenings for service and working dogs.

These examinations are conducted by board-certified professionals from the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ACVO).

Annually, throughout May, Dr. Adkins, a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist and an ACVO diplomate, dedicates her time and resources to this important initiative. Since May 2009, she has served as the head of the ophthalmology department at the Hope Advanced Veterinary Center.

Thank you to Dr. Adkins for taking the time to provide this vital service to local working dogs!
