The Hope Advanced Veterinary Center is an AAHA recognized Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center located in the heart of Vienna, VA. - Veterinary Technician Internship
We offer paid internship openings for Veterinary Technician Students. The internship will rotate students through several different specialty services including Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology, Oncology, Laboratory, and Emergency.
The internship program plays a large role in our teaching and mentoring programs which enables technician students to experience a wide range of what the veterinary technician profession has to offer.
Applicants must be motivated professionals who enjoy challenging cases and learning new skills in a fun, fast-paced working environment.
- Veterinarian Externship
We offer offer a 1-year rotating internship for 4th year veterinary students to work in our emergency room on the nights and weekends.
With the assistance of the veterinarians on duty, the externs will develop a set of differential diagnoses, recommended diagnostics and therapeutics, and may create a treatment sheet. The externs then can follow the progression of the case as the evening and the week progresses. Although externs cannot perform procedures, we encourage them to watch and assist in procedures and surgeries whenever possible.

- Veterinarian Internship
We participate in the American Association of Veterinary Clinicians’ Veterinary Internship and Residency Matching Program. The Matching program facilitates a pairing between newly graduated veterinarians and hospitals nationwide.
The internship is ideal for those seeking practical experience and in-depth training their first year as a veterinarian whether interested in pursuing a residency or going on to private practice.
Primary case responsibility and many opportunities to learn specialized surgeries and emergency procedures is given to interns and mentorship from the emergency clinicians and specialists is always on hand. Interns will rotate through Emergency, Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology, Oncology, Cardiology, and Surgery. Mentorship is always available.
