Dr. Gisele Buffaloe, Vienna Veterinarian

Dr. Gisele Buffaloe

Dr. Buffaloe is originally from Brazil, where she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Federal University of Lavras. Her passion for animals began at an early age and inspired her lifelong commitment to veterinary medicine.

In addition to several years of clinical practice in animal hospitals, Dr. Buffaloe pursued advanced academic training, earning a PhD in Food Science, and working as a researcher before returning to full-time veterinary practice.
After moving to the United States, Dr. Buffaloe completed the Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates® (ECFVG®) certification program through the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), achieving equivalency of her veterinary degree and becoming licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the United States.

Dr. Buffaloe has wide-ranging professional interests and a genuine passion for lifelong learning. She is excited to continue her professional growth through her rotating internship at the Hope Center, where she looks forward to learning from specialists, expanding her clinical and procedural skills, and providing exceptional care to patients and their families.

At home, Dr. Buffaloe lives with her husband and their two beloved Siberian cats, Scruff and Ana. Although Siberians are often considered quasi-hypoallergenic, her husband still takes a daily allergy pill—just to be safe! These little creatures are loved beyond measure and are the main source of entertainment in the Buffaloe household.

Outside of work, Dr. Buffaloe enjoys photography, cooking, and traveling with her family.
