Jeanene Harris
DVM, MS, DACVIM (Neurology)
Dr. Harris began her journey towards becoming a veterinarian by attending Mary Washington College where she received her bachelor’s degree in biology in 2002. She was accepted to the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine’s Class of 2007, and graduated Summa Cum Laude.
She then entered a 1-year small animal general/rotating internship at Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington, D.C., followed by a three-year residency in neurology at Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine. While at WSU, Dr. Harris also received a master’s degree in veterinary clinical sciences.
Upon completion of her residency, Dr. Harris practiced in Annapolis, MD and San Antonio, Texas. She took a brief hiatus from veterinary medicine in 2017, at which time she moved internationally to Amsterdam, NL. After switching her focus to motherhood for a time, Dr. Harris returned to practicing veterinary neurology in 2023.
Dr. Harris enjoys the complexity of neurologic cases and the ability to perform both neuromedical and neurosurgical procedures.
When not working, Dr. Harris enjoys spending time with her best buddy (son), Ellis, traveling, eating and cooking (mostly eating) international cuisine, gardening and collecting special-needs pets. Her menagerie currently consists of two dogs, Sophie and Jack, and two cats, Birdie and Bleu.
