Christopher Smola
DVM, Diplomate ACVS-SA VSC Staff Surgeon
Dr. Smola is an Alabama native who completed undergraduate training at Auburn University. After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in animal sciences and a master’s degree from Auburn, he attended Lincoln Memorial University for his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
Following graduation, he completed a one-year rotating internship and a one-year surgical specialty internship at The Animal Medical Center in New York City and BluePearl Veterinary Partners - New York. He then continued to pursue his passion for small animal surgery by completing a three-year residency at BluePearl Veterinary Partners - Philadelphia. He became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2024. He worked in a private surgical specialty practice in Nashville before joining VSC.
In his free time, Dr. Smola enjoys spending time with his growing family traveling, finding new restaurants, snow skiing, being on water, and watching sports.
